Forged Steel Globe Valve are outside screw and yoke type (OS & Y) with rising stem and rising handwheel. These valves shall be bolted bonnet or welded bonnet type with full or standard bore options.The globe valve is used for throttling flow control. Shut off is accomplished by moving the disc against the flow stream rather than across it as in the case with a gate valve. The flow pattern through a globe valve involves changes in direction, resulting in greater resistance to flow, causing high pressure drop.Globe valves restrict the flow of fluid by altering the distance between a movable plug and a stationary seat (in some cases, a pair of plugs and matching seats). Fluid flows through a hole in the center of the seat, and is more or less restricted by the plug's proximity to that hole.
